Seyyed Reza Salehi-Amiri, director of NLAI visited the South African library and met with its director Sonto Moleme on Monday, the public relations department of NLAI reported.
During the meeting the directors emphasized on expanding Iran-South Africa’s cultural ties particularly signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was indeed warmly welcomed by the African party.
In other news, Salehi-Amiri invited his African counterpart to visit Iran and the precious collection of NLAI. During the meeting the Iranian official presented a copy of “Nelson Mandela” book to Sonto Moleme.
Heading a delegation, the director of the Iranian library arrived in Cape Town, Thursday night to attend the 81st IFLA World Library and Information Congress.
Over 4000 librarians from around the world are attending the congress, which ends on August 21.
